Overview

Hum is a self-improving coding agent for your terminal. Built for long-running async work.

Install

curl -fsSL https://hum.metaphi.ai/install.sh | sh   # macOS, Linux

npm install -g @metaphi-ai/hum                      # any platform

Start

cd your-repo
hum

The first run signs you in. See the Quickstart.

What it does

  • Plans, edits files, runs commands in a local sandbox.
  • Keeps working after you close the terminal. hum resume brings you back.
  • Asks you when a decision is yours. Away, it takes the default and the question waits.
  • Runs unattended with hum run "task".
  • Reads AGENTS.md at the root and in any folder, plus skills, hooks and MCP servers you already have.
  • Runs on the models we route or on a host you name.
  • Knows its own docs. Ask it what it can do or how a setting works; it reads these pages before answering.
